Stormy Weather Blues is Grant Moff Tarkin's third full-length album, after 2005's EP 'Age Old Moods', 2008's LP 'Quanah's Hunting Day' and 2009's LP 'Long Lost Son'.
The album marks Grant Moff Tarkin's return to its roots in guitar rock and grunge rock, and presents a contemporary view on the alternative bands they've grown up with from the 1990s on. The sound is largely dominated by electric guitars, supported by Damien's hard-hitting grooves. To the band members the making of 'Story Weather Blues' felt like coming home, as on their previous records the tone was mostly set by folky and bluesy tunes. In many respects this collection of old and new material can be described as the album they've wanted to make for a long time but for several reasons had forgotten to set their minds to. Until now, that is.
Although 'Cotton Cown' is somewhat of an odd-one-out among the heavier tunes on the album, the song provided a perfect atmosphere for Grant Moff Tarkin's first music video - which has mostly been shot outdoors. Jean, the clown who is not really a clown, walks through the woods seemingly aimlessly and affects our lives in ways we don't expect - like so many people do every day without really knowing what they're capable of. The video also features Timo, our drummer for the summer who took care of businesses while Damien was taking care of other businesses.
